SHE HEARS HIS VOICE
When the Garden of Our Hearts Needs Healing
There was a quiet ache I carried for many years.
It sounded something like this:
“Why does it still feel like I’m not enough… even after all these years?”
Have you ever felt that way?
Maybe you tried your best to live faithfully, to serve others, to use the gifts God gave you. Yet somewhere along the way, you began to feel like you never quite measured up.
Perhaps you disappointed a parent, a teacher, a pastor, or a mentor.
Perhaps you learned to try harder… instead of resting in grace.
Or maybe you’ve quietly wondered,
“By this stage of life, shouldn’t I be further along?”
These thoughts don’t come out of nowhere.
🌿 Something shifted in the garden… and we’ve been feeling it ever since.
Sometimes the distance we feel—from God, from peace, even from ourselves—didn’t start with us.
It’s something deeper our hearts have been carrying.
Learning From the Garden
This year I began planting a garden from seeds.
And I noticed something beautiful—each seed needs something different.
Some need more sunlight. Others need deeper soil. Some take longer to grow.
It made me realize… our hearts are like that too.
Growing up, I loved hearing stories about God. Seeds of faith were planted early.
But I didn’t realize how deeply my experiences were shaping me.
As a sensitive child, I carried things deeply.
Perfectionism quietly took root.
When I struggled—like with piano—it felt devastating.
Words spoken in frustration wounded me more than anyone realized.
I didn’t see growth.
I only felt like I had fallen short.
RECOGNIZE THE SHIFT
Sometimes we think:
“This is just who I am.”
But often… it’s something that grew in the soil of our experiences.
💛 Gentle Truth:
This isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness.
When we begin to recognize what shaped us, we move from confusion → clarity.
Gentle Reflection
Take a quiet moment and ask:
• What thoughts have shaped my sense of worth over the years?
 • When did I first begin to feel “not enough”?
 • What emotions still feel tender when I think about certain memories?
Closing Thought
Healing begins when we gently notice what has been growing in our hearts.
And the Good Gardener is not overwhelmed by any of it.
If this resonates with your heart I invite you into the journey of the Garden of Hope.
